Moving Forward

During the forced closure due to the Coronavirus pandemic, I took advantage of the time off to accomplish some continuing education. Two of my favorite workshops that I completed were Foam Rolling and Intermediate Mat Pilates on the BOSU.

If you own a foam roller & other rolling props but seldom (or never) use them, now is the time to start! Foam rolling has been a part of my life for many years after it was pointed out to me how beneficial it can be. This workshop gave me more tools in my tool box to help my body – lengthening & relaxing tight & tense muscles. Rolling has been extremely helpful & therapeutic as I’ve been recovering from an injury in February. If you need some help figuring out exactly what will help you, make an appointment for a Private or Semi-Private & we will spend the time to help you learn how to help yourself.

The other workshop, Mat Pilates on the BOSU, was really fun! I use the BOSU regularly in my own cross-training workouts, but hadn’t really used it in Pilates. It can make some exercises more doable, especially if you don’t have a flexible spine. With others, as with all props, it can change the focus of the exercise and/or make it more difficult. In almost all cases, as you would expect, balance is developed as you work on the BOSU. (If you’re not familiar with a BOSU, the term is an acronym for BOth Sides Up & it is a half ball with one solid, flat side & one rounded air-filled side.)

So if you want to take you’re mat workout to another level, ask me about using the BOSU in your session.

The studio is open, both physically & virtually. Clients are welcome in the studio with scheduled appointments for Privates & Semi-Privates, both Duets & Trios. I am offering sessions on the Mat, Reformer, Tower, Chair, Barrels & TRX. Virtually I can work with you using whatever equiment you have in your home, from a Mat to a Reformer to a Chair or Barrels. I have also been doing foam rolling sessions with clients, which can be done in the studio & virtually.

Although the pandemic is still around, please don't let it be an excuse to stop exercising. As you can see, there are ways to work together even if you are unable to leave the house. If you are comfortable coming into the studio, I am happy to work with you.
